G8 Summit 2009

The 35th G8 Summit, initially planned to be held in the island of Maddalena in Sardinia, will take place in L'Aquila, the city symbolising the earthquake that hit Abruzzo on 6 April. The G8 countries, which comprise the main industrialised countries ( Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States), will be discussing issues ranging from the struggle against poverty to climate change.
